The Wallenberg Foundations
The Wallenberg Foundations is the collective name for the public and private foundations established and funded with donations that individual members of the Wallenberg family have either given or raised in honor or memory of family members.
The Foundations grant funding to excellent researchers, research projects and education beneficial to Sweden. Grants have totaled almost SEK 42 billion since the founding in 1917, of which SEK 11.4 billion the past five years. In 2022 SEK 2.6 billion were granted.
The Wallenberg Foundations focus mainly on basic research in medicine, technology, and the natural sciences, but they also support research related to the social sciences and the humanities.
To ensure that their assets are managed in a professional manner, the Foundations have assigned this management task to the wholly-owned company Wallenberg Investments AB.
